PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor miniaturized with securing reliability by improving rotation efficiency of a crankshaft and supply efficiency of lubricating oil to each part, and a refrigerator provided with the compressor, which is a hermetic compressor. SOLUTION: In the hermetic compressor having a compression element and an electric drive element held in a hermetic vessel and having a crankshaft 7 driven by the electric drive element and a piston 4 connected by a connecting rod 2, height of the compressor can be limited and supply efficiency of lubricating oil to each slide part can be improved by using a claw pole motor of which stator 5 of the electric drive element is a claw pole formed by compressing magnetic powder having isolating film and which is constructed by a coil wound in a circumference direction of a shaft without an end coil.
