PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure and a structure assembly for catching drifting articles due to a tsunami, which each absorb a shock caused by collision of drifting articles therewith. SOLUTION: The structure 1 for catching drifting articles is formed of a support 3 and a shock absorbing pipe 4 which is arranged across a predetermined interval away from the support 3, and fixed to the support by a mounting member 5.
