摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prophylactic agent and a therapeutic agent against botulinum toxin, a method for detecting botulinum toxin, and a botulinum toxin detection kit. <P>SOLUTION: A polypeptide is provided which is derived from the heavy chain (H chain) of botulinum toxin produced by a genetic recombination technique. A vaccine (prophylactic agent) and an antibody (therapeutic agent) can be obtained from the obtained polypeptide. In type C or type D, it is most practicable to make a vaccine by mixing the C terminal side (Hc) of its heavy chain with HA1 (or HA3b) as part of its nontoxic component. A method for detecting botulinum toxin is also provided which comprises capturing that portion of a botulinum toxin complex which is other than the botulinum toxin light chain (L chain) and reacting the captured botulinum toxin light chain (L chain) with a substrate. A test kit is further provided which utilizes a nucleic acid amplification technique using a primer set common to the botulinum toxin genes of the respective types. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p>
