An aircraft passenger seat (100) has a seat bottom frame (150), and the seat bottom frame (150) is supported by an eccentric cam (210). A seat back frame (170) which rotates about a support point (250) is provided with a damper mechanism (300). When the seat back frame (170) is tilted forward from an upright position about the support point (250), a gas damper (310) is compressed and prevents rapid tilting. This energy assists force for returning the seat to the upright position. The eccentric cam (210) rotates and lowers the seat bottom frame (150) to prevent a cushion from being compressed. A lock mechanism (400) highly rigidly retains the seat back frame at a bed mode position. |
