PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brushless DC motor capable of high efficiency operation at a low cost.SOLUTION: A brushless DC motor includes a stator (10) around which a main exciting coil (20) is wound, a rotor (30) housed in the stator (10) and rotatable in a predetermined direction, and sub-exciting coil pairs (41-44) facing around the axis of rotation of the rotor (30), and fixed to the stator. When a voltage is applied, the sub-exciting coils (41-44) generate a magnetic field in a direction perpendicular to a direction connecting the sub-exciting coil pairs (41-44), and a direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the rotor. |
