The invention relates to a method and a machining device for clamping and machining an electrical enclosure component in a machining device. The method has the following steps: arranging a workpiece (2) in the form of an electrical enclosure component on a working surface (3) of a machining device; clamping the workpiece (2) on the working surface (3), wherein a mounting device (7) on which at least one clamping device (8, 9) is arranged is moved towards an edge (19) of the workpiece (2) by means of a movement device operated by an actuating drive, and upon a movement towards the edge (19) of the workpiece (2), a clamping element (14) of the at least one clamping device (8, 9) is moved from a release position into a clamping position, in which the clamping element (14) comes into contact with the workpiece (2) in multiple contact regions such that the clamping element (14) secures the workpiece (2) against displacement on the working surface (3) in mutually transverse directions in a machining position; and machining the workpiece (2) by means of a machining tool (4). |
