The present invention relates to a method for producing aqueous hydrolysates from aminoalkyltrialkoxysilanes by (a) introducing water, optionally warming, (c) adding hydrolysable silanes consisting of at least one aminoalkyltrialkoxysilane in an amount which provides a molar ratio of water to the total amount of aminoalklytrialkoxysilane of 10.5 to 20, (c) distilling off of the alkylalcohol during the reaction, wherein the solids content in a so produced aqueous compound is 30 to 55 wt.% in relation to the compound and the aqueous solution has a total content of free and bonded alkylalcohol of less than or equal to 1 wt.% in relation to the compound.
