<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal transmitter for transmitting a signal having a large number of data and a signal having a small number of data at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The transmission module 12 of an optical transmitter 10 has a electric/optic converting circuit board 18 for converting an electric signal to an optical signal and transmitting it and a signal relay circuit board 20 which transmits an input electric signal, and a receiving module 14 has an optic/electric converting circuit board 48 and a signal relay circuit board 50 for electric signals. The signal relay circuit board 20 comprises a power source circuit 38 for DC power supply. In the transmission module 12, the electric/optic converting circuit board 18 and the signal relay circuit board 20 are provided independently of each other and in the receiving module 14, the optic/electric converting circuit board 48 and the signal relay circuit board 50 are provided independently, so that the specifications of the electric/optic converting circuit board 18 and the optic/electric converting circuit board 48 for transmitting video signals each requiring a high frequency are common for each user, and the signal relay circuit boards 20 and 50 for supplying power are suited to use for each user or for each country. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
