摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat transfer recording medium which can form in high sensitivity printing being highly precise and excellent in friction resistance to a material to be transferred comprising principally a polystyrene substrate, and to provide a printing method. <P>SOLUTION: The heat transfer recording medium is the heat transfer recording medium wherein an ink layer containing a thermoplastic acrylic resin and a coloring agent is provided on a heat resistant base material. The thermoplastic acrylic resin is 30,000 to 60,000 in weight average molecular weight and 40-100&deg;C in glass transition temperature. The ink layer contains 30-70 wt% of the thermoplastic acrylic resin and 30-70 wt% of the coloring agent. A layer thickness of the ink layer is 0.2-1.0 &mu;m.
