PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flash fixing apparatus easily and arbitrarily extending its flash fixing time without increasing capacity of a capacitor unit and an image forming apparatus using the flash fixing apparatus. SOLUTION: The flash fixing apparatus is provided with a flash lamp 21, a plurality of power source supplying means FVC charging a discharge capacitor C at a specified charging cycle TO according to a charging signal CHON and switching means PSW and TSW switching output of a plurality of power source supplying means FVC. A plurality of charging signals CHON are sequentially delayed by a specified delay interval T1 and at the point the charging is completed by the discharge capacitor C of each power source supplying means FVC according to each charging signal CHON, power source is sequentially supplied to the flash lamp 21 by the switching means PSW and TSW at the specified delay interval T1.
