PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position measurement system and a position measurement method for precisely measuring the position of a human, or the like regardless of position measurement using radio wave strength that has been considered to be unsuitable for indoor position measurement conventionally. SOLUTION: The position measurement system comprises a radio tag 14 that is a object to be measured for position, a plurality of access points AP1-AP9 for measuring the position of the radio tag 14, and a server 16 connected directly or indirectly to the access points AP1-AP9. The access points AP1-AP9 acquire information related to the strength of radio waves from radio waves received from the radio tag 14 and other access points AP1-AP9, and send the acquired information to the server 16. The server 16 measures the position of the radio tag 14 by a triangulation method and upon whether the radio tag 14 is located inside a triangle. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
