A printing device and a printing method for improving resolution of master printing are provided to form a dot pattern that works best for the master printing by adjusting a form, an angle, and a number of lines of the dot pattern by using an RIP(Raster Image Processor) in a computer. A first ink roller(12), a second ink roller(14), and an option roller(16), rotatably connected to the upper part of a rotary plate cylinder(10), are spaced from each other. A transition roller(22) is rotatably connected to the first and second ink rollers(12,14) and transfers ink and water provided from an ink unit(18) and a water unit(20). A blanket cylinder(24) and an impression cylinder(26) are rotatably connected to the lower part of the plate cylinder(10) in turn. A printing image of a direct printing plate(28), mounted on the outside of the plate cylinder(10), is composed of a shade of a photograph and a picture with a dot pattern on a printing paper(30), provided between the blanket cylinder(24) and the impression cylinder(26), by rotating the blanket cylinder(24) and the impression cylinder(26) according as the plate cylinder(10) rotates.
