<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a precise evaluation result considering visual characteristic of a subject. <P>SOLUTION: A glare evaluation apparatus evaluates a glare of a light source that a subject feels. The glare evaluation apparatus includes a crystalline lens characteristic acquiring section 1, a reached light spectrum calculation section 5 and a glare calculation section 6. The crystalline lens characteristic acquiring section 1 acquires transmission characteristic of the crystalline lens of the eye of the subject. The reached light spectrum calculation section 5 calculates the spectrum of the light that reaches the retina of the eye of the subject at least on the basis of the spectrum of the light emitted from the light source and the transmission characteristic acquired by the crystalline lens characteristic acquiring section 1.
