<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device capable of performing uniform light emission of the entire display unit extending in a specified direction with a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: In the illumination device 10 which is provided on an instrument panel or the like of a vehicle and extends in the specified direction, and an illumination means 50 for illuminating the display unit 12, the illumination means 50 comprises a plurality of light sources 30 and light guide bodies 20 for guiding the illumination light of the light sources 30 to the display unit 12. Each light guide body 20 comprises a body part 21 and a projecting part 22 which is projected toward a substantially intermediate point of the light sources adjacent to each other out of the plurality of light sources 30 from the body part 21, and has a shape of guiding the illumination light to a portion of the display unit 12 opposite to the substantially intermediate point of each light source 30 by refracting the light emitted from each light source 30 to the adjacent light source 30 side at its outer peripheral surface 22a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
