<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printing method and an ink set which enable the attainment of printed matter excellent in glossiness without impairing the shape of paper. <P>SOLUTION: Using coating ink containing particulates in the printing method, coating is made on the paper treated with (i) a polymer emulsion containing a natural cationic polymer (A) and a polymer particle (B) containing a structural unit derived from a vinyl monomer at least, or with (ii) a wet paper strength potentiator, and then the coated portion of the paper is overprinted with water-based ink containing a colorant by an inkjet recording method.
