PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fitting a lower nozzle to a ladle by which a packing is hardened surely in just enough to surely prevent the penetration of metal into the joints. SOLUTION: In the method for fitting the lower nozzle to the ladle by fitting the lower nozzle 12 to a lower plate 6 provided in the ladle 1, the packing 16 containing a phenol-resin is interposed between the lower plate 6 and the lower nozzle 12, and the packing 16 is heated so as to satisfy the following conditions. The surface temperature of the packing after heating is defined as≥350°C, the heating time is defined as≤10 min and the total heating quantity is defined as≥40 MJ/kg value expressed in terms of the weight unit of the packing.
