A retaining wall structure and a construction method thereof are provided to facilitate the retaining wall construction and shorten the construction period by laminating a plurality of front face timbers with holders and fixing a soil reinforcement on the holders. A retaining wall structure comprises a plurality of front face timbers vertically laminated on the ground, a plurality of holders(20) having one or more grooves(25) formed in the longitudinal direction on the upper surface and arranged transversely to the longitudinal direction of the front face timbers, and a soil reinforcement(30) having perforations through which soil flows and fixed on the grooves. The soil reinforcement reinforces the soil filled in the rear side of the front face timbers. The width of the perforation of the soil reinforcement is equal to the interval of the grooves of the holder. |
