PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve performance to detect the amount of toner inside a toner container with a reflection type ultrasonic sensor.SOLUTION: A toner amount detection device of the invention of the present application comprises a reflection type ultrasonic sensor 41 that includes a transmitter 42 and a receiver 43, and detects the amount of toner inside the toner container 40 on the basis of a result of reception performed by the receiver 43. Sound wave reflectors 47 and 48 extending toward a bottom part 40a inside the toner container 40 are attached to at least the transmitter 42 of the transmitter 42 and receiver 43. A transmission port 47a of the sound wave reflector 47 located on the transmitter 42 side is brought closer to the bottom part 40a inside the toner container 40 than the receiver 43 itself or a reception port 48a of the sound wave reflector 48 located on the receiver 43 side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
