PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical roller bearing for reducing stress to occur in a bearing ring due to the contact of boundary areas between each of both axial ends of the rolling surface of a cylindrical roller, subjected to crowning, and the axial center between both axial ends with the raceway surface of the bearing ring.SOLUTION: Both axial ends 3aA and 3aA of a rolling surface 3a of a cylindrical roller 3 are subjected to crowning for reducing a contact surface pressure on at least one of an inner ring 1 and an outer ring 2. The bus bar of the rolling surface 3a of the cylindrical roller 3 consists of convex curves at both axial ends 3aA and 3aA subjected to the crowning, and a straight at an axial center 3aB between both axial ends 3aA and 3aA, not subjected to the crowning. The surface roughness of each of contact parts 12 of one or both of a raceway surface 1a of the inner ring 1 and a raceway surface 2a of the outer ring 2, contacting a boundary area 13 between the axial end 3aA and the axial center 3aB, is superior to the surface roughness of each of non-contact parts not contacting the boundary area 13 between the axial end 3aA and the axial center 3aB.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
