摘要 An ignition system for internal combustion engines relates to devices intended for igniting a fuel-air mixture at a required time in the cylinders or the ignition chamber of an internal combustion engine. The present invention differs from ignition systems currently used in internal combustion engines in that the proposed ignition system uses a variable electrical capacitor for generating a high-voltage current pulse; mechanically decreasing the capacitance of the variable electrical capacitor after the electrodes thereof have been charged by a certain initial excitation charge increases the voltage on said electrodes by several orders of magnitude and thus converts the mechanical energy of an internal combustion engine (for instance the energy of the reciprocating motion of a piston, or of the rotation of a crankshaft) into electrical energy for a high-voltage discharge. The present invention makes it possible to produce an ignition spark of higher power, which may significantly exceed the power of current analogues, the magnitude of which does not depend on the operating mode or the number of rotations of an internal combustion engine, while also making it possible to make the ignition system for internal combustion engines compact and independent of the primary electrical system of an internal combustion engine.
