Provided is a leaky wave antenna that enables dual polarization and for which an emission region is not limited on one side. A leaky wave antenna is provided with, as an element unit (AE), a CRLH transmission line having a configuration in which unit cells (UC) having a CRLH configuration are connected in multiple stages periodically between one ends and the other ends of two parallel lines (La, Lb). The unit cells (UC) have a configuration in which left-handed series capacitors (C1, C2) are respectively inserted into the two parallel lines (La, Lb) and left-handed parallel inductors (L1) are inserted between the two parallel lines (La, Lb). By feeding power between the two parallel lines (La, Lb), the two parallel lines (La, Lb) and the series capacitors (C1, C2) operate as an emission source of a vertical polarization component, and the parallel inductors (L1) and an electric conductor between the two parallel lines (La, Lb) operate as an emission source of a horizontal polarization component. |
