PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can reliably store apparatus unique information by using two memories having limitations of capacity and the number of times of rewriting different from each other.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an SRAM 54; a flash memory 55 that has a capacity larger than that of the SRAM 54 and the number of times of rewriting limited compared with that of the SRAM 54; and an image control CPU 51 that is a processor. The image control CPU 51 divides data of apparatus unique information updated as necessary into high-order bytes (high-order digits) and low-order bytes (low-order digits), stores the low-order bytes in the SRAM 54, and stores the high-order bytes in the flash memory 55.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
