PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of securely processing a remote control signal even when the receiver includes a plurality of reception units for receiving the remote control signal.SOLUTION: A receiver, when having received a remote control signal having a specific format capable of being simultaneously processed, uses a result of the reception to select either a first reception unit or a second reception unit. The specific format is, for example, a format having a long header length. A remote control signal of a format having a longer header length requires a longer time until reception of a data part posterior to a header part has started. Therefore, the receiver, even when having no high processing capability, can simultaneously process a plurality of remote control signals having the specific format and select a reception unit. The receiver, even when having received a remote control signal that is difficult to process simultaneously (for example, a remote control signal of a format having a short header length), reduces the amount of signal processing by taking remote control signals selected by the selection processing as a target of the signal processing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
