<p>Reaction of Si(H) unit containing polysiloxanes with at least one alcohol comprising a linear, branched, (un)saturated, aromatic, aliphatic-aromatic mono- or polyalcohol, polyether mono- or polyether polyalcohol, aminoalcohol, preferably N-alkyl-, arylamino-EO-, -PO-alcohol, N-alkyl- and/or arylaminoalcohol comprises reaction in the presence of Group 3 element(s) as a catalyst. A process for the reaction of Si(H) unit containing polysiloxanes of formula (1) with at least one alcohol comprising a linear, branched, saturated or unsaturated, aromatic, aliphatic-aromatic mono- or polyalcohol, polyether mono- or polyether polyalcohol, aminoalcohol, preferably N-alkyl-, arylamino-EO-, -PO-alcohol, N-alkyl- and/or arylaminoalcohol in the presence of at least one component of a Group 3 element as a catalyst such that hydrogen atoms in the Sii(H) (R)-O units of the polyorganosiloxane are at least partially replaced by alcohol groups.
