An air bag device enabling the prevention of the dispersion of decorative members when an air bag is inflated by a simple structure. A recessed part in which the decorative parts of an air bag cover (50) are installed is formed detachable from the other portions when the air bag is developed and connected to a fixed connection member. For this purpose, a circular tear line (Lc) for defining the recessed part (52) and a plurality of tear lines (L1) to (L4) extending from the tear line (Lc) in the radial outer direction and defining opening pieces (50a) are formed on the inner surface of the air bag cover (50). Also, the mounting parts (50b) of the opening pieces (50a) are screwed to the plastically deformable mounting pieces of a base plate. Thus, the recessed part of the air bag cover can be kept stationary when the air bag is developed.
