<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the deterioration of an auxiliary power supply device for driving a second heater device provided in a fixing device and to prolong the life of the auxiliary power supply device. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: the auxiliary power supply device in which power is accumulated; the fixing device which is equipped with a first heater to generate heat for fixing processing by power of a commercial power supply and a second heater to generate heat for fixing processing by power of the auxiliary power supply device; an instruction receiving means which receives an operation instruction to instruct not to drive the second heater; and a control means which allows the fixing device to rise by driving only the first heater when the instruction receiving means receives the operation instruction to instruct not to drive the second heater. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
