PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which is applicable for a reflection device and can suppress deterioration in display quality due to movement of ionic impurities.SOLUTION: An electro-optic device comprises: a first substrate; a second substrate facing the first substrate; an electro-optical layer held between the first substrate and the second substrate; a first electrode group belonging to a first region that is provided on a surface of the first substrate closer to the electro-optical layer and serving as a region for displaying an image; a second electrode group belonging to a second region that is provided on the surface of first substrate and provided outside the first region along the outer circumference of the first region; and a third electrode group belonging to a third region that is provided on the surface of first substrate and provided opposite the first region with respect to the second region. When a signal equivalent to a first gradation is supplied to the first electrode group and a signal equivalent to a second gradation lower than the first gradation is supplied to the third electrode group, a signal equivalent to a third gradation lower than the first gradation and higher than the second gradation is supplied to the second electrode group.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 |
