A solvent separation method comprises: an exhaust heat recovery step of carrying out the heat exchanging of solvent-containing water (i.e., water containing a solvent), which is generated in an extraction vessel (9), by means of an exhaust heat recovery boiler (12) to recover exhaust heat; a solvent-containing water supply step of supplying both solvent-containing water which is generated in a dehydration vessel (5) and solvent-containing water from which exhaust heat has been recovered by the exhaust heat recovery boiler (12) to a pressure container for solvent separation use (11); and a temperature keeping step of keeping the temperature of the solvent-containing water to be supplied to the pressure container for solvent separation use (11) at a temperature which is determined in advance and at which the solvent and water are separated from each other due to the difference in density. In the method, water, which has a liquid form, moves downwardly and the solvent moves upwardly in the pressure container for solvent separation use (11) due to the difference in density between water and the solvent at the aforementioned temperature, thereby separating the solvent-containing water into the solvent and water. |
