Disclosed is a material sorting method. The method comprises the following steps: feed a mixed material to be sorted into an inner cavity (215) of a sorting barrel (210), a central axis of the sorting barrel (210) being transversely arranged; drive the sorting barrel (210) to rotate around its own central axis, and apply a magnetic field to the inner cavity (215) of the sorting barrel (210) along a circumferential direction of the sorting barrel (210) at the same time, so as to enable selected materials in the mixed material to attach to a barrel wall of the sorting barrel and move upwards along with the barrel wall until leaving away from the mixed material; and an unloading device (270) enables the selected materials to leave away from the barrel wall of the sorting barrel (210), fall into a material receiving device (250) and leave away from the sorting barrel through a first outlet. |
