PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a search support device capable of supporting search for an article from the outside of a communication area of a wireless tag.SOLUTION: The search support device can access a storage device which stores information to identify the position of a communication area of a wireless tag in association with an identification code of the wireless tag. The search support device includes setting means, first guidance means and second guidance means. The setting means sets a target wireless tag as search target. The first guidance means executes a first guidance operation for giving a user a guidance about a position of the target wireless tag estimated on the basis of a state of communication with the target wireless tag when it is communicable with the target wireless tag. The second guidance means executes a second guidance operation for guiding the user to the vicinity of the communication area of the target wireless tag on the basis of the information stored in the storage device in association with the identification code of the target wireless tag when it is not communicable with the target wireless tag.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
