FIXING ARRANGEMENT FOR CROSS-BARS TO BE ARRANGED IN THE STORAGE SPACE OF DRAWERS

The invention relates to a fixing arrangement for cross-bars (24), which go through the storage space of drawers at a distance above the base thereof and with the ends fixed to sidewall mounting wings (10), made from metal sheet. The upper edge region (14) thereof is mounted to a rail (12) running between the front surround and the back wall of the drawer, parallel to and at a distance above the drawer sidewall. The lower edge region (16) thereof is supported on the relevant drawer sidewall. The cross-bars (24) are provided with short projecting pegs (30) on the ends thereof, which may be optionally introduced into a series of recesses (2) provided in the sidewall mounting wings (10). At least one of the both projecting pegs (30) projects from the front face of an endcap (28) on the end of the cross-bar (24) in a manner whereby it is longitudinally displaceable by a pre-set amount, between two end-positions and spring-loaded in the direction of the adjacent sidewall mounting wing (10). The recesses (22) in the sidewall mounting wings (10) are in the form of cup-shaped depressions into which the pegs (30) projecting from the stepped ends of the cross-bar (24) engage with a complementary fit.
