PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester composition sufficiently keeping its catalytic activity as titanium catalyst even if titanium oxide content is high, showing no rise in filter pressure at its molding, good in reeling property, and excellent in polymer color tone and heat resistance compared with current products, and a fiber made therefrom. SOLUTION: In a polyester containing 1.5-7.0 wt.% titanium oxide particles, this polyester composition contains 1-150 ppm, in terms of titanium atoms, titanium compound other than titanium oxide, 0.1-200 ppm, in terms of phosphorus atoms, phosphorus compound, 1-200 ppm, in terms of atoms, at least a compound selected from the group consisting of a magnesium compound, a manganese compound, and a calcium compound, and 1-1,000 ppm crystallization promoter.
