PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a trialkylgallium, capable of producing the trialkylgallium in a high yield, by reacting gallium, magnesium, and an alkyl halide, without using a gallium-magnesium alloy. SOLUTION: This method for producing the trialkylgallium comprises reacting the gallium, the magnesium, and at least one of the alkyl halide in at least one kind of ether compound and diluting the reaction system with at least one of the ether compound in the course of the reaction.
