PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glycerol hydrogenating decomposition catalyst capable of selectively obtaining 1, 3-propane diol in high yield by efficiently hydrogenating glycerol under a mild condition even if a liquid acid catalyst is not used together, and a method for manufacturing 1, 3-propane diol using the catalyst.SOLUTION: A glycerol hydrogenating decomposition catalyst is obtained by supporting a platinum component and an aluminum component on tungsten trioxide being a carrier. The catalyst is preferably obtained by impregnating tungsten trioxide with a platinum compound and an aluminum compound at the same time and baking the resulting material. |
