The shelving system has at least one shelf support (1), which clips into a rail. The support is a folded and shaped metal sheet (9), with an upper side (3) to support a shelf and side surfaces (5). The rear side (7) has at least one hook (12,13) projecting from a side surface, to clip into slits in a row at the rail. A section of the side surface, at the rear, is shaped with limit stops (14,15) under and/or over the hook transits and offset from the hook structure. When in place on the rail, the limit stops bear against the rail and the support is resistant to side forces.
