In one respect, the present invention provides an improved dip tube design for a container for containing and dispensing a liquid chemical. The dip tube generates a spring force that acts to maintain the connection of a bottom end of the dip tube and a notch when being compressed, wherein the notch is located at a bottom edge of the bottom end of the dip tube that creates flow transfer between a bottom interior surface of the container and the interior volume of the base portion of the dip tube and the container. In another respect, the present invention provides a method for constructing a container having these limitations.
