PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device for vehicles, capable of enhancing charging efficiency of a battery.SOLUTION: When a battery 12 is discharging due to a current supply to an electric load 13, the battery 12 is in a fist connection mode A1 where all cells 12a in the battery 12 are connected in series, but when the battery 12 is charging, at least in a part of the charging time, a change-over switch 14 is switched to a second connection mode A2 where the cells 12a are combined so that the voltage of the battery 12 becomes lower than that in the first connection mode A1. For example, as the second connection mode A2, a mode may be possible where the number of cells 12a connected in series is decreased by separating a part (1 piece) of cells 12a. |
