PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of purifying trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234ze(E)), and azeotrope compositions of the compound and water useful as blowing agents, propellants, refrigerants, diluents for gaseous sterilization, and the like.SOLUTION: An azeotrope composition with water is obtained by subjecting said compound containing impurities to azeotropic distillation to isolate the impurities, and contains about 0.1 to about 50 wt.% of water and 70 to 99.9 wt.% of HFO-1234ze(E), preferably about 1 to about 27 wt.% of water and about 73 to about 99 wt.% of HFO-1234e(E), further preferably about 1 to 27 wt.% of water and about 73 wt.% of HFO-1234ze(E).SELECTED DRAWING: None |
