PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely switch a torque transmission path (reduction gear ratio) on a paper feeder side according to performance of an image forming apparatus body.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus moves a movable gear 22 from a first position A to a second position B, switches an engagement counterpart of the movable gear 22 from a first gear 26 to a second gear 27 having a different reduction gear ratio, and switches a torque transmission path of a gear engagement mechanism 21 to T2. The switching is performed by forcibly moving the movable gear 22 from the first position A to the second position B in association with a connection operation in which a paper feeder is electrically connected to an image forming apparatus body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12 |
