PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position controller for a moving body capable of accurately positioning the moving body (a shifter) without any particular sensor. SOLUTION: A rack gear 71 and a stopper member 74 are mounted on the shifter 6. A transmission gear member 73 transmitting power from an electric motor 72 to the rack gear 71 is provided, and a holding pin 77 vertically extending downward is formed on the transmission gear member 73. When the shifter 6 is slidably moved to an original position, the holding pin 77 is locked against the stopper member 74 and the electric motor 72 is stepped out. The generation of the step-out of the electric motor 72 is recognized to recognize the fact that the shifter 6 reaches and is positionally fixed at the original position (a reference position), and the shifter 6 is positioned.
