The method involves fitting a main material (6) made of pre-impregnated fiber semi-finished product e.g. carbon fiber and a secondary material (7) made of glass fiber to a support (3) for forming blank-mold areas (1,10) comprising main material and secondary material. The pressure is applied to the blank-mold areas to form a workpiece blank (14) such that the support is formed on the upper surface of the workpiece blank. The support and the secondary material are removed from the workpiece blank to form a workpiece. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) workpiece production apparatus; (2) method for producing plastic fiber-composite component; and (3) semi-finished product.
