<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct methanol fuel cell system which solves the problem of liquid leakage or crossover in use of liquid fuel even as a system, preventing pressure increase in a fuel electrode, and efficiently generates electric power by utilizing solid methanol being very safe in the state of a fuel cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: A unit fuel cell 1 comprises a fuel electrode 2, an electrolyte membrane 3, and an air electrode 4, and the fuel electrode 2 and the air electrode 4 are electrically connected with an electric circuit L. A solid methanol housing container 5 which is a fuel container is installed adjacently to the fuel electrode 2 in the unit fuel cell 1. The housing container 5 is formed by filling solid methanol and an alkaline inorganic solid into a rectangular box-type casing 11, an opening part 12 is formed on the lower surface side, and by partitioning the opening part 12 with a synthetic resin mesh 12A, the solid methanol and the alkaline inorganic solid are held, and permeability is secured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
