<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the number of users which can be accommodated while ensuring a wide bandwidth, to efficiently share a line during soft handover, to avoid data from being residual when a variable communication rate is used and further, to prevent increase of retransmission. <P>SOLUTION: In a mobile communication system, residual packet data in a first base station 2 are transferred to a second base station 3 in accordance with handover processing that is carried out in response to movement of a mobile station 4. The mobile communication system comprises a control unit which carries out the transfer without applying encapsulation processing for adding a header for retransmission control to the residual packet data, and the mobile station 4 comprises a receiving unit which receives the transferred residual packet data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
