A method of passing an optical fiber cable equipped with an optical connector, the method being capable of passing the optical fiber cable through existing piping for electric wires without damaging the cable and with small pulling force. The optical fiber cable (31) equipped with an optical connector has mounted on it a holding section (19) having an engagement/disengagement function for allowing an adaptor to be engaged with and disengaged from a plug frame (99) that covers a ferrule. In insertion of the optical fiber cable (31) into piping (39), the optical fiber cable (31) is pulled into the piping (39) with at least the holding section (19) removed. Then, the holding section (19) is attached to the plug frame (9) and the optical fiber cable is passed through the piping.
