PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a utilization method of an electronic coupon capable of simply performing authentication operation for preventing the electronic coupon from being altered and reducing operation load on a client.SOLUTION: The utilization method includes: a step in which a client side portable terminal 2 generates a one-time password (OTP) based on coupon identification information on an electronic coupon and displays an encryption code obtained by encrypting the generated OTP; a step in which a shop side portable terminal 4 reads the encryption code and transmits the code to a server 6 on a head office side; and a step for comparing the coupon identification information on the electronic coupon with stored coupon identification information on the electronic coupon and compares the OTP generated on the basis of the coupon identification information with the OTP from the client side portable terminal 2, thereby authenticating the electronic coupon. |
