PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retractor for a seatbelt capable of quickly unlocking the pulling-out of webbing, by winding a smaller amount of the webbing than conventional retractors.SOLUTION: The retractor for a seatbelt includes: a lock mechanism for blocking rotation in a pulling-out direction of a winding drum; a ratchet gear 7 and a locking gear 30 for rotating in unison with the winding drum; a clutch 50 for moving a pawl 9 located at a position where the pawl is not engaged with the ratchet gear 7, to a position where the pawl is engaged with the ratchet gear 7; a clutch biasing member for biasing the clutch 50 in a winding direction; and a connection mechanism for connecting or disconnecting the clutch 50 to or from the locking gear 30. When the pulling-out of webbing is locked, a direction in which the clutch 50 is biased to rotate is kept in the pulling-out direction. This reduces the amount of the winding of the webbing upon the unlocking as compared with conventional retractors, enabling quick unlocking.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12 |
