PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for limiting the processing capacity and power consumption of a semiconductor device at any ratio.SOLUTION: A semiconductor device comprises a clock generating circuit CPG generating a clock signal CLK, and a data processing unit DPU receiving the clock signal. The clock generating circuit includes: an oscillator OSC generating a source clock signal CLKO; an output circuit OC enabling the source clock signal and outputting the clock signal; and a control circuit CC having a setting circuit the enabling ratio of which is set by the data processing unit. The semiconductor device can change the frequency of the clock signal by temporally and partially permitting or prohibiting the source clock signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A |
