PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game device which does not require the installation of a target and a large space in performing a shooting game. SOLUTION: A headphone 10 to be mounted on a player incorporates four speakers to its right and left respectively. A main body 30 controls the speakers so as to generate a 3D sound image which makes the player feel that an object issuing a sound is apparently coming closer to the player from a direction determined at random. The player directs the tip end of a controller 20 to the sound image. The controller 20 determines whether a deviation between the direction of the controller 20 and the direction of the sound image, which are detected by sensors, is within a prescribed range. When it is determined that the range is the prescribed one and an operation for catching the sound image is detected, a catching sound is output from the speakers. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
