PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser ignition engine control unit capable of accurately determining whether a laser igniter is contaminated and executing measures against the contamination at appropriate timing.SOLUTION: A control unit (ECU 50) of a laser ignition engine 1 for igniting an air-fuel mixture using a laser igniter 11 emitting a laser beam condensed by a lens 11d, comprises: a combustion-state-related-value acquisition unit 51 acquiring a combustion state related value related to a combustion state of the engine 1; and a contamination determination unit 52 determining whether the laser igniter 11 is contaminated by comparing the combustion state related value acquired by the combustion-state-related-value acquisition unit 51 with a combustion state determination value specified on the basis of a combustion state of the engine 1 in a state in which the laser igniter 11 is not contaminated. |
