PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately correct a focus detection error occurring arising from an angle of an edge of a subject upon performing a focus detection.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: an image pick-up element (122) that photoelectrically converts light to be incident via imaging optical systems (100 and 121) to output an image signal; focus detection means (129 and 130) that detect an in-focus position on the basis of the image signal output from the image pick-up element; edge detection means (125) that detects an edge angle of the edge of the subject included in an image and the number of edges thereof on the basis of the image signal output from the image pick-up element; and correction means (125) that obtains the amount of correction of the in-focus position on the basis of the detected edge angle and number of edges, and corrects the in-focus position detected by the focus detection means on the basis of the obtained amount of correction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
